The Asthma Coalition of WNY has been serving the WNY counties of:
Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans,
and Wyoming for the past 10 years.
Our Mission is to effectively improve the health and wellness of children
with asthma and their families in the diverse communities of Western New
York.
We are currently funded through the NYSDOH and works under the
chronic disease umbrella of the Western New York Public Health Alliance
(WNYPHA).
The WNYPHA is composed of the Public Health Commissioners and
Directors of all eight counties of Western New York, as well as the
representation from academia, healthcare providers, the community,
payers, and hospitals. It has been awarded the grant “A System’s
Approach to Reducing the Burden of Asthma”. Through this grant, Cornell
Cooperative Extension has agreed to house the Asthma Coordinator.
